Are City Transport Route Names Relevant to Onomastics?

Abstract: The article observes city transport route names and their place within the proper names system. The author divides the collected material (transport route names mainly from Russian and Polish-speaking cities) into several groups, characterizing each of them and analyzing the motivation of most of the onyms. The examples cited in the article illustrate the variety of route names.
