Abstract: This publication presents a selection of data from the toponymic database of the Garinsky District, Sverdlovsk Region, compiled from field materials recorded by the Ural University Toponymic Expedition in the 1960s. The full corpus comprises over 7,200 entries; however, this edition offers a representative sample intended to highlight the most salient features of the region’s toponymy. The publication is preceded by an introductory section outlining the general structure and components of the database, along with a discussion of methodological challenges encountered during compilation. These include administrative boundary changes, the disappearance of certain settlements, the presence of unofficial or numeric forest tract designations in passport records, and cases of homonymous localities within the district. A brief characterization of the toponymic material follows. The publication includes the following structural components of the database: (1) toponym; (2) additional geographical term (or the primary term where no secondary is available); (3) topographical reference; and (4) commentary, where applicable. While portions of the Garinsky district toponymic material have previously appeared in the work of scholars from the Ural School of Onomastics, Etymology, and Ethnolinguistics, this marks the first comprehensive digitization and release of the complete dataset.
